As you may have guessed (and read the title of this section) the text you see above all titles is Marathi. It is one of three languages I was born with, with the other two being Hindi and of course, English.

My origin
I was born and raised in Mumbai, a melting pot of cultures all across India.

Childhood
Art & Design have always been a part of my life. Starting out as Lego models to Jenga structures, I always had a drive to create. Although academics became tougher as I grew, there was always an innate desire to make something, be it doodles on notebook ends or caring too much about aesthetics in a class presentation.

Where culture comes in
For the first 18 years of my life, my family and culture defined my identity. I always felt comfortable knowing "who I was".
A leap of faith
Distance: ~4,000 mi / ~13,000 km
Time to travel: 25 hours (one way)
Going halfway across the world was definitely a scary experience. For the first 18 years of my life, I always lived in a familiar environment - a place I could speak all the languages.
I wanted to learn 'the language of design', in an environment that was completely new to me. It wasn't very often for me to learn a language, let alone strive to be fluent in it.

So, what now?
Now I'm at SCAD, where I'm learning more than ever about design, reigniting the same wonder I had when I was a kid.

What I'm up to
I've joined FLUX, the UX club at SCAD. I love volunteering in any way possible and help out the community. I have found the most joy in FLUX's Mentorship Center, wherein my team and I help out students with technical skills as well as soft skills.
